Skiing in the North Carolina High Country
Winter skiing is a top attraction in North Carolina’s High Country, and guests at SugarTop Resort have easy access to Sugar Mountain Resort and Beech Mountain Resort. Just minutes away, Sugar Mountain is the state’s largest ski area, offering skiing, snowboarding, tubing, ice skating, lessons, and rentals for all skill levels. Nearby Beech Mountain, the highest ski area in Eastern America, features scenic views, terrain parks, and family-friendly slopes. The ski season runs from late November through March, with peak conditions in January and February, supported by extensive snowmaking.
Hiking Near Sugar Mountain
